What We Believe In
Jason Blevins believes both Democrats and Republicans are clinging to stale outdated policies and have become reactive instead of proactive in addressing our issues. Both Democrats and Republicans have consistently put party over people and have created division instead of unity.
Jason Blevins believes both Democrats and Republicans have played political theater with the funding of Delaware's public schools for too long. Incumbent District 22 Representative Republican Mike Smith has introduced House Bill 389 focused on the funding of public schools. Smith is quoted, "It closes a loophole in the law". Mr. Smith's bill does nothing but continues the trend of underfunding our public schools and creating socioeconomic disadvantages for the underprivileged children in our state. It is time for a change.
Jason Blevins fully supports the LGBTQIA community along with women's rights and gender equality. Incumbent District 22 Representative Republican Mike Smith's voting record illustrates a dangerous view of his vision for women's rights in Delaware. Mr. Smith voted no to HB 320 - Expands Access to Abortion Medications and voted no to HB 31- Authorizes the Complete Decriminalization of Abortion in the state of Delaware. Jason will always ensure the statutes in our state protecting women's rights are never overturned.
Jason Blevins believes now more than ever the partnership between law enforcement and the community is needed, but reckless legislators within our state have a different view. Incumbent District 22 Representative Republican Mike Smith voted no to SB 148 - Expands the Division of Civil Rights and Public Trusts Responsibility of Review Deadly Use of Force Incidents and voted no to HB 26 - Prohibits Incarcerated Youths from Being Housed in Adult Prisons. Jason believes incidents involving our youth require a common sense approach, and realizes the events of a young person's life can have lasting and in some cases devastating effects as they transition into adulthood.
Jason Blevins encourages everyone to play their part in our Political Movement. The only way we succeed is when the change comes from within, and we want to empower you to take an active role. Learn more about the opportunities available to lend your support.
